Welcome to the Trainer Revenue Multiplier Show!
Each week Mathew Park and/or his co-host TRM Mentor Jaime Filer will be having a round table discussion with a TRM Leader on how to build an insanely profitable, systemized, impact-driven, six and seven-figure a year personal and online training business.
This week Jaime Filer talks to Alvin Brown about imposter syndrome.
According to apa.com, "First described by psychologists Suzanne Imes, PhD, and Pauline Rose Clance, PhD, in the 1970s, impostor phenomenon occurs among high achievers who are unable to internalize and accept their success. They often attribute their accomplishments to luck rather than to ability, and fear that others will eventually unmask them as a fraud."
Many people who feel like impostors grew up in families that placed a big emphasis on achievement. In particular, parents who send mixed messages — alternating between over-praise and criticism — can increase the risk of future fraudulent feelings. Societal pressures only add to the problem. And social media only amplifies it even more! On today's episode, Alvin and Jaime do a deep dive into imposter syndrome, what the fitness industry is doing about it, and how to reframe your thoughts.
